Training and safety are two areas FIRE STOP will not compromise.

FIRE Stop's in house training programs follow NWCG curriculum and work in accordance with the national and State Incident Command Systems. The NWCG courses offered follow the “Field Managers Course Guide” for each individual class, and all instructors are qualified according to NWCG and State Fire marshals guidelines. FIRE STOP offers in house NWCG courses in wildland fire suppression, prescribed fire, select state fire marshal approved courses, EMS, and Hazardous Materials FRO courses. All Fire Stop personnel are qualified under the NWCG 310-1 directives and have a minimum of 8 hours annual safety refresher training. All Fire Stop firefighters attend mandatory pre-season academies and participate in engine company evolutions.
Academies include, but are not limited to, instruction on basic wildland fire tactics, water and hose use, LCES, 10’s/ 18’s, situational awareness, entrapment avoidance, shelter deployments, structure protection triage, uses in water enhancement chemicals (foam/ gel), radio communications, basic helicopter safety, hand and power tools safety, and first aid/CPR. The goal of the Fire Stop in house training is to deploy professional engine companies using the chain of command, working cohesively to safely and effectively support wildfire incidents.
